Join us for the first meeting of the New Rotary Year!
We will be highlighting Pedi Place as our first Non-Profit of the Month.
Pedi Place -Our own Shari Markey will be giving us an update and overview. "Our not-for-profit pediatric clinic provides primary care pediatric health services with a highly competent and bilingual staff of medical professionals, trained office staff, and dedicated volunteers. By providing quality, compassionate, family-centered healthcare to North Texas children with limited access to care, children are given what they cannot access elsewhere...a chance at a healthy life."

The FMHS freshman orientation will be Wednesday July 27th. Jane and I would really appreciate if a few members could come and help us run the Interact Info Booth. We will be wearing our dark blue Rotary shirts and helping students and parents learn more about both Interact and Rotary.
Interact is in my opinion a vital part of our club. These kiddos volunteer along side us and get to see Rotary in action. Please make every effort to come out and help.
The orientation is at the FM9 campus and will have 3 shifts.
8am - 9:45am
10:30am-12:15pm
1:30pm- 3:15pm
I created a sign up genius with 4 slots for each shift. The address to FM9 says Peter's Colony but it is really on Old Settlers.

Non-Profit of the Month Journey to Dream's Nesa Grider
Today’s teens face extraordinary challenges with lifelong consequences before they’ve fully developed the skills to cope with them. These can include everything from traumatic experiences like homelessness, trafficking and abuse to the everyday challenges of being a teen, like peer pressure, family conflict and stress. Since 2004, Journey to Dream has provided youth safe spaces to work through these issues by developing their identities and healthy coping skills. Founded by two passionate women who saw a gap in services for homeless teens in Denton County, the organization has grown to reach 15,000 young people annually. We are a faith-driven and inclusive organization that is committed to empowering teens while also providing them the guidance and accountability needed during these formative years. Our continuum of programs include shelter for teens experiencing homelessness, ongoing support services and in-school prevention programs to help middle and high school students manage the stresses of growing up in today’s complex world. |
